Derby's Dutch cousin By: Jan Preuthun

On the basis of the article about Derby's Italian connection, we recieved an email from the Dutch reader Jan W. Jansen.

After a visit to a Dutch museum, he suspected that his DUC BOCK, also had an Italian connection. Probaply a similar one like the Derby’s.

He did a further study and found the below informations, that he has kindly made available to us.

Have Bentley and B.R.M perhaps also been connected?”

Letter_from_Ferrari.jpg

A letter from Ferrari to the Dutch importer says:

Modena, March 8th - 1956

Dear Sir.

With reference to the letter dated 5th instant, addressed by you to the B.R.M. Works in Modena, manufactures of the well known engines for motorcycles, and on their request, we can assure you that their realizations take advantage from our permanent technical control, since the same experts who supervise our “Experimental Department” carry out the same activity at the B.R.M. Works.

We are happy to be able to satisfy your request, and with our best regards, we remain,

Yours faithfully

Enzo Ferrari.
